I'm in Bydgoszcz right now, my time in Tarnowiec was so busy I didn't really get a chance to post anything, so it's nice to finally have a chance to sit down and write a bit, but to be honest trying to retell everything that happened this week is giving me a little bit of anxiety. I'll do the best I can in a few blog posts, sorry if they seem a bit choppy, I'm lazy.
The week was fantastic, breathtaking, there was sickness-related misery, a lot of sun,
lots of family, lots of driving, Slovakia, a water park, climbing stuff, biking
places, and talking. Lots and lots of talking. Inevitable when you're trying to catch up on the last five years.
Like I said in the first post here, my bags didn't make it the same day I did, so instead of going to Zakopane, where my other cousins were already waiting for us, me and my two other cousins decided to just go the day after, sorry for ruining your plans guys :(
But that night I slept maybe four hours (jet lag is a butt). Next day my cousin took me biking for a few hours, and as we all know, when a bike is involved, it's always a good day. He took me around the whole town and to the surrounding forests. I put pictures from Tarnowiec in a previous post.
If
you ever get a chance to travel in Poland or the surrounding countries, try to
find a way to get to the more rural areas, not just the big cities. To be
honest most of those look pretty much the same anyways. Big buildings around a main square, statues of dead people and travel guides who recite facts like parrots. Come to
a lesser-known place in the outskirts, grab a bike, and go see the forests.
(watch out for ticks though).
Then that night we got a call from the man that was driving my bags over, and he told me his car broke down.
No sir, no it didn't, it's all in your head. You don't understand, I need my bags. I have been wearing the same clothes for a few days now, I'm sure I smell like cow, I'm driving three hours south tomorrow morning and I don't have any of my stuff. So, you see, your car simply cannot break down.
Thankfully after a couple stressful hours the man called back that the car was fixed, I finally got my exactly-50 pound bag.
Then I packed for Slovakia, which deserves a post of its own, so I'll end this here. Now that I think about it I probably don't need to post any of this, it's not too interesting, eh but what the heck. Publish.
