Next stop: Galway, where Nathalie's friend is studying abroad and was nice enough to let us stay with her in her dorm/apartment. First day in Galway was Halloween, so I suppose we should have gone out, but we were tired, and apparently it gets so crazy here that it's not even worth it, so we stayed in.
Highlight of the day: I went to the store here (It's like Target! A store with everything in it!) and bought kale for a euro.
Let me explain something: I used to be a health nut. My mom would literally tell me to stop eating so many veggies, and I would get in trouble for eating all the fruit. I hardly ate bread, quinoa was a regular part of my diet, white flour was a sin. In France, those healthy habits have slowly been dying. On this trip? They have breathed their last breath and have been buried deeply, deeply in their graves. I can count the number of fruit and veggies I ate in the last week on one hand. And please don't even ask me about exercise, just don't, it's shameful.
So kale was a highlight.
Other than that we basically just chilled here. The kids outside were partying like crazy, so I tried to get some studying done instead of sleep. Remember what happened to my good eating habits? The same thing has happened with my studying. So I sort of sat next to my homework and poked it a few times, then went to sleep.
Then today, day 8, we walked around Galway. Nathalie's friend showed us around the city. It's adorable. I felt a little bit like I was back in Kirkland, it's a picturesque little town. Tomorrow we're going to see the Cliffs of Moher and we're hoping for good weather. Just....just google it. It looks absolutely amazing.

And once again, she ended her day as she usually does. Asleep. With her clothes on. And the lights on. Hopefully she doesn't kill me for posting this. |
