Grèves...oh France

Another day, another grève. Today classes were cancelled because the students decided to protest against austerity (I think). So, as any mature adult would do, they fought for more funding by barricading all the doors to the buildings.

What...what?!

Apparently this happens every couple of years.

I don't quite understand how impeding yourself and your fellow classmates from learning while your professors get paid for doing nothing is going to help. And I also don't quite understand why your expectations are so high when you pay less for tuition than I do for books at home.

I know, I know, they pay higher taxes, blah blah. But still...

So it was a funny day, where I hung out on campus and studies. I was annoyed, I could have slept! I'm still exhausted after our break.

According to our program we have to be in our RI classes a certain number of hours a week for them to count, so we had to go to Montpellier II (we're in III, it's a separate university right next to II), walk all the way around campus, so that we could use a classroom there.

It was nuts. If this had happened in the US we would have called the police. I was so tempted to go up to any French student and just ask "Qu'est-ce que vous voulez?! Vous avez tout, et c'est gratuit!"

Saw some pretty awesome graffiti on my desk in Montpellier II though
